2018 VIEW BY WINNEBAGO 24G MERCEDES DIESEL FULL BODY PAINT GENERATOR SOLAR UNDER 60,000 MILES
2018 Winnebago View 24G -- Compact Class C. Big-Brand Quality.
The View has been Winnebago's answer to drivers who want diesel reliability and real living space without a 35-foot footprint. Built in Forest City, Iowa by a company that's been defining American motorhomes since 1958, the 2018 24G sits on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis with the 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel--188 horsepower, a smooth five-speed automatic, and the kind of highway manners that make a 25-foot-8-inch coach feel like a tall van, not a bus.
That chassis is the foundation. Winnebago's SuperStructure framing, Thermo-Panel walls, and tight fit-and-finish sit on top of it. This isn't a bargain-box Class C. It's the model that made Sprinter-based motorhomes the benchmark for quality, resale, and ease of driving.
Two slideouts open the coach instead of stretching it. The rear slide gives you a walk-around queen measuring 60 by 75 inches with a memory-foam mattress--a real bed, not a converted dinette. Mid-coach is a proper wet bath with a dedicated shower, swivel sink, and enough room that you're not doing yoga just to brush your teeth. Up front, the curbside slide houses the convertible dinette. Add the cabover bunk and the dinette conversion and it sleeps up to six when you need it, then lives like a couple's coach the rest of the time.
The galley is designed for actual cooking on the road: a two-burner cooktop, convection microwave, 12-volt compressor refrigerator that skips the usual propane-fridge drama, and real cabinet volume. Counter space is very usable.
Storage is where Winnebago usually wins--pass-through basement, overheads that don't feel like afterthoughts, and the kind of closet and pantry planning that comes from decades of building these floor plans.
On the road the numbers work in your favor. Interior height is a full 80 inches. Fresh water holds 31 gallons, gray 40, black 36, and LP 13. Climate control comes from a 15,000 BTU air conditioner and a 20,000 BTU furnace. The tank holds 26.4 gallons of diesel. GVWR is 11,030 pounds with a factory tow package and a GCWR of 15,250 pounds, which typically leaves practical towing in the 4,200-pound range depending on how you load the coach. Power entrance steps, a rearview camera, MCD blackout shades, and LED lighting throughout round out the daily-use details. This coach also has a diesel generator with only 1st hours of use.
This floor plan is great for couples who want a queen they can walk around, weekenders who don't want to fight a 32-footer into a national-park site, and anyone who prefers a Mercedes diesel to a gas Ford or Chevy chassis. It's easy to park, easy to service at Mercedes shops nationwide, and built by the brand that still owns the conversation in compact Class C quality.
The 2018 View 24G is the sweet spot: short enough to drive every day, finished well enough to keep for years, and laid out so the living space doesn't feel like a compromise. That's the Winnebago difference--and why this floor plan still turns heads.
