2007 DUTCH STAR 4023! POWERFUL 400 HP CUMMINS DIESEL WITH FOUR SLIDES AND TONS OF LIVING SPACE!
The 2007 Newmar Dutch Star 4023 is a luxury diesel pusher built for travelers who appreciate the difference between simply owning a motorhome and traveling in a true residential-style coach. At approximately 40 feet 8 inches in length and riding on Newmar's Spartan Mountain Master GT chassis with independent front suspension, the 4023 combines substantial construction, a spacious quad-slide floorplan, and the power of a Cummins ISL 400-horsepower diesel engine. A two-stage engine compression brake, hydraulic leveling system, polished aluminum wheels, and a 10,000-pound-rated towing hitch add to the capability of this coach on the road and at the campsite.
One of the highlights of the 4023 is its four-slide layout. With the slides extended, the interior opens into an impressive living space with opposing front slides and additional slides in the bedroom. The floorplan provides a generous main living area with sofa seating, a freestanding dinette, abundant overhead cabinetry, and the open feel expected from a high-end diesel coach. Newmar equipped the Dutch Star with hardwood cabinetry, residential-style full-extension drawer guides, padded vinyl ceilings, day/night shades, and deluxe carpeting, while solid-surface Corian countertops bring a residential finish to both the kitchen and bathroom areas.
The kitchen is designed for extended travel rather than occasional weekend use. The 4023 floorplan provides a large solid-surface countertop with an undermount sink and flush sink covers, a three-burner cooking area, convection microwave, refrigerator, pantry storage, and extensive cabinetry. Directly across the coach, the freestanding dinette creates a comfortable place for meals, morning coffee, or simply spreading out with a laptop while traveling. The combination of the opposing slides and thoughtful placement of the kitchen and dining areas gives this coach a remarkably residential feel.
Moving toward the rear, the 4023 offers a particularly attractive bath arrangement. An angled 38-by-38-inch shower provides considerably more room than the small shower stalls found in many coaches, while the floorplan incorporates separate vanity and lavatory areas and a private toilet compartment. The arrangement allows different areas of the bath to be used independently and provides separation between the living area and rear bedroom. Newmar's polished Corian bathroom surfaces, residential cabinetry and generous storage continue the upscale character of the coach.
The rear bedroom is designed as a genuine private retreat. The 4023 floorplan features a 60-by-80-inch queen bed positioned in its own slide, allowing additional walking space when extended. Opposite the bed is another slide containing a chest of drawers and television/storage area, while the rear wall provides a large wardrobe with sliding mirrored doors. Dedicated washer/dryer cabinetry is also incorporated into the rear of the coach, making this floorplan particularly well suited to extended trips, seasonal travel or full-time RV living.
Comfort was clearly a priority in the Dutch Star. The 40-foot models were equipped from the factory with dual Penguin heat-pump central air-conditioning systems, ducted heating, insulated double-pane tinted safety-glass windows and substantial electrical capability. The coach was designed around 50-amp service, a 2,000-watt inverter and a four-battery house bank, while a diesel generator provides independent electrical power when traveling or camping away from hookups. Newmar also equipped the Dutch Star with conveniences such as power awnings, slide-out awning covers, large heated remote-control exterior mirrors, a one-piece windshield and extensive lighted exterior storage.
