Check out this MCI Mc-5C Challenger bus conversion available for sale in Maine. Health and age have sidelined the dream.
Approximately ~75,000 miles on the Detroit Diesel 6V71 as of August 2025. There are six new Firestone tires with less than 500 miles on tires.
Additional features include a propane water heater and a propane/120 fridge. 147-gallon fuel capacity, with 55-gallon gasoline auxiliary for genset.
There is a 100-gallon capacity for each gray/black tank and potable water tank. Two roof a/c units keep the bus cold during those hot summer days. There are three roof power vents.
The kitchen includes a propane stove with an oven.
It will need two 4D in series for engine start 24 volts, two deep cycles in parallel for house 12V, one 12v for genset Honda liquid cooled start. RV and generator can easily be started off a boost.
It may need a new right front wheel bearing oil seal - it recently started weeping a little. Right rear brakes seem to be sticking a little after sitting, but do release as you drive.
